BID FOR THE POWER LUNCH OF A LIFETIME

WITH WARREN BUFFETT

ANNUAL eBay AUCTION JUNE 24 – 29

BENEFITS GLIDE FOUNDATION

Top Bidder Wins Lunch With World’s Most Successful Investor

In New York City

SAN FRANCISCO – Investors, stop guessing about the right investment, and raise your virtual paddles to bid on a power lunch with Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.  The annual Warren Buffett Lunch charity auction, a high-demand item listed on eBay, benefits San Francisco’s Glide Foundation.  Last year’s winner bid more than $600,000 for the lunch of a lifetime with Mr. Buffett.  Bidding for this year’s auction opens Sunday, June 24th at 7:00 p.m. PDT, and will close on Friday, June 29 at 7:00 p.m. PDT.

Each year, Mr. Buffett generously offers one “power lunch” – and only one – as a charity item, and for the last eight years, the beneficiary has been the Glide Foundation, of which Buffett has remarked “is a remarkable organization that gives help and hope to those society has forgotten.”

Last year’s winner paid more than $600,000 for the opportunity to join Buffett for lunch in New York City. The winning bidder will have the opportunity to invite up to six friends to join him or her and Buffett for lunch. The bidding starts at $25,000 and all bidders will be pre-qualified through Kompolt, the online auction agency for creating successful, high-value and high-profile promotional and charity auctions. To pre-qualify, visit: www.ebay.com/glide.

The lunch will be listed through eBay Giving Works and hosted in New York by Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group.  eBay Giving Works is the dedicated program for charity listings on eBay designed to help eBay’s community of more than 233 million people support their favorite causes.  Alan Stillman, CEO of Smith & Wollensky, has also generously agreed to donate $10,000 for the privilege of hosting the lunch.  Smith & Wollensky has been called “the quintessential New York steakhouse” by Gourmet Magazine and “the steakhouse to end all arguments” by the New York Times.

"We’re so grateful for Warren’s consistent support of our organization.  His generosity and spirit allows us to offer real help to real people in real time,” stated Reverend Cecil Williams, Glide’s founder.  “Every day, we serve the poorest and most disenfranchised folks in society – and give them the means to lift themselves up and be productive and happy.”
