The GLIDE Legacy Committee presents A Love Supreme, the 2nd Annual GLIDE Legacy Ball to be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, a black tie affair dedicated to celebrating and continuing this incredible legacy of love, leadership and community.
This year’s event will honor California Attorney General Kamala Harris and author Dave Eggers, two young professionals who are change agents within their communities with the Cecil Williams Legacy Award and the Janice Mirikitani Legacy Award. This special event will usher in nearly 1,000 guests and feature local restaurants and special sponsors, while the internationally renowned GLIDE Ensemble, the highly acclaimed DJ King Most and award winning jazz ensemble, Terrence Brewer Band, will be on hand to entertain.
The palatial Regency Ballroom (1300 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, California 94109) evokes a sense of refinement and grandeur rarely experienced any more. This opulent venue—built in 1909—enchants all who enter as a fine example Scottish Rite architecture, boasting vaulted ceilings, blonde hardwood floors, and 22 turn-of-the-century teardrop chandeliers.
