Every year, thousands of volunteers are need to prepare and serve GLIDE’s famous Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, and to distribute toys and grocery bags to those in need. Starting November 1, you can sign up for Holiday Volunteer Opportunites. If our volunteer needs on a particular Holiday have already been met, please consider supporting GLIDE through a donation or by volunteering on another day.

Thanksgiving Celebration and Meals (Nov. 22)

GLIDE serves nearly 5,000 full meals will all the fixings to thousands of families and individuals on Thanksgiving. Kick off the season of by volunteering at GLIDE's annual Thanksiving Dinner, and share your gratitude with hundreds at GLIDE's rockin' annual Thanksgiving Celebration!

Annual Holiday Jam (Dec. 6)
7pm - 10pm DOIN' GOOD
This year’s annual benefit for Mo’s Kitchen and GLIDE's program, DOIN' GOOD, will feature live musical and spoken word jams at the San Francisco Warfield Theatre with performances by GLIDE Ensemble and Change Band, Eion Harrington, POPLYFE, Tony! Toni! Toné!, GLIDE Ensemble, the Change Band and other surprise musical guests!

Asian Chef's Holiday Meals (Dec. 10)
Lunch, 11:30am - 2:00pm
Dinner, 3:30pm - 5:30pm
The Asian Culinary Association (ACA), a collection of the Bay Area’s most renowned Asian chefs, will host the annual Chefs Without Borders Holiday Lunch and Dinner, a free Asian holiday lunch and dinner to feed 2,500 meals to the poor and homeless. This is the eighth year the Asian Culinary Association, in partnership with the California Culinary Academy, prepares and serves a delicious Asian lunch and dinner for GLIDE's community.

Seniors' Holiday Social (Dec. 11)
11am - 2pm in Freedom Hall
Family members and special community guests are invited to join this private festive party featuring a traditional turkey dinner, raffle, door prizes, deejay and dancing. GLIDE’s Senior program promotes community involvement and encourages seniors to serve as volunteers or mentors at GLIDE and the community at large.

Grocery Bag Giveaway (Dec. 19)
7:30am - 12:30pm
GLIDE will give away 5,000 bags full of groceries to individuals and families this year. Hundreds of volunteers, including employees from SpotOn/Central Payment, Gap, Inc., PG&E and many others will help fill the bags and distribute them to those in need.

During the Holidays, many families will not have the resources or opportunity to gift their children with toys. Help distribute toys to the boys and girls in our community.

Prime Rib Luncheon (Dec. 24)

Sponsored each year by Joe Betz and San Francisco’s House of Prime Rib who donate 2,000 pounds of prime rib for GLIDE’s special mouthwatering Christmas Eve luncheon.

Come Celebrate Christmast at GLIDE's lively annual Celebration, followed by dinner for thousands fo homeless and need familes and individuals. Volunteers are need to prep thousand of Christmas dinner the night before.
