Juneteenth Celebrations

June 8th, Juneteenth Parade – Join GLIDE’s Center for Social Justice (CSJ) and Glide Memorial Church (GMC) for a day of celebration and remembrance on Market Street.  RSVP here.

GLIDE will have a float in the 11 am parade, organized by the Human Rights Commission.  The parade begins at 11 am at Market and Spear St and heads toward Fulton Plaza near the Civic Center.  If you wish to participate in the parade contingent with GMC, meet at Market and Spear at 10:15 am and contact Freddy Martin (fmartin@glide.org) to learn more.

CSJ will be gathering a parade viewing block party on 6th and Market.  To join them, gather around 10:15 am for snacks, water, music and activities.  Contact Erick Arguello at earguello@glide.org to learn more.

Festivities continue from 12-6 pm,  with a Celebration in Fulton Plaza. The Glide Ensemble will be singing with Martin Luther McCoy, there will be delicious food, and so much more.  Join us and help commemorate this important day in history. We can’t wait to see you there!
