“You Think You Know, But You Have No Idea”
This event has been postponed. Please check back for a new date.

GLIDE seeks to engage the broader community with a panel and open forum discussing the overdose epidemic. San Francisco recorded 806 accidental drug overdoses in 2023. Overdose deaths in 2024 are currently on track to nearly match 2023’s numbers.

It’s critical we have a community discussion about what is working, and not working, in a safe and inclusive space of diverse perspectives. The forum will begin with people who have lived experiences of using fentanyl and crack along with a person who will talk about the family impact of the overdose epidemic.

Panelists coming from varying approaches to overdose prevention  will discuss what is being seen and how to work better together. Panelists will include:

  • Richard Beal (Tenderloin Housing Clinic), Keith Humphreys, drug policy expert
  • GLIDE Senior Director of Health Access, Mike Discepola and Code Tenderloin Shavion Wong
  • Elected officials and special guests to be announced
