See Bio
Saundra Haggerty is a native of San Francisco. She is GLIDE's Violence Intervention Programs Manager and oversees two programs serving two distinct populations: Men In Progress and the Women's Center. Both programs provide education, prevention, and intervention services that address gender-based violence in relationships, families, and the broader community. Men In Progress and the Women's Center target and serve communities of color, particularly African-American/Black communities, to address the historical and institutional impact of systemic racism on violence, trauma, and disenfranchisement. Men In Progress serves economically and socially disenfranchised men who are mandated by the criminal justice and child protective services to complete a batterer's intervention program as a condition of their supervision and/or family reunification requirements. The Women's Center serves self-identified women survivors of violence to gain a deeper understanding of how gender-based violence and individual, family, and community violence are perpetrated through cultural, social, and interpersonal factors that promote aggression and violence to obtain power and control. Saundra serves as GLIDE's content expert on gender-based and community violence.

I am one of the Case Managers here in the Women’s Center. I’ve worked in the Case Management field for the past five years, working with multiple companies like Homeless Prenatal Program, where I graduated from the Community Health Worker Apprenticeship Program. I am very involved with my community and thrive on trying to make better my city and neighborhood. I am also a proud mom of a 4-year-old boy who is a toddler by day and Spider-Man by night. As a Case Manager I will promise to support every single one of my clients to the best of my abilities. I am here to support all needs including, but not limited to, housing support, women support groups, job research support and much much more. I like to work by using my testimony as my motivation to help one person at a time. I may not have been exactly in their shoes, but I know what it feels like to come from nothing to make it into something no matter what it takes. Oh yeah, I am a Gold Blooded San Francisco native and die-hard 49ers Fan!

Case Manager
I was born in Nicaragua to a working-class family. At an early age, I was very determined to fight against injustice. I moved to San Francisco in 1999. I love hiking, salsa dancing, and being a social worker. I'm a single mother of a seven-year-old girl. It was difficult to make ends meet when my daughter was younger, and I was forced to request services from different organizations within my community. My personal experience made me understand the importance of accessing supporting systems and communities that are cultural and ethnically inclusive. I became a case manager at the Women’s Center in June 2023, allowing me to be part of my clients’ support network. I provide low-threshold advocacy and case management to female-identifying individuals. I have been able to support clients through one-on-one meetings, referrals to housing, health services, support groups, and other community resources. The collaborative work in building a safe space for women in Glide has been one of the most rewarding achievements in my career.
